自分と存在する環境にいつも、漠然とした不安がどこかにあった。
その感覚は、ときに見ている風景を物悲しく感じさせる。けれど、夜明けの空の明るさや、雪解けへ向かう湿った空気の温度に、ふと安心を覚える瞬間もある。
思えばその不安は、いつもどこかにあった。
不幸なニュース、未曾有の災害、未知の病、突然始まる戦争。
冷たい不安の中に足を浸すような感覚は、いつもどこかにあり続けている。
そうして下を向いた視線の先で、冬の地面がわずかに芽吹き始めていることに気づく瞬間がある。
その時に生まれるのは、感情とも言えないあまりに小さな揺れ。そこに「まだ生きている温度」を感じる。
そうした現象の中でふと立ち現れる微かな揺れを辿るように、線を重ねていく。感触を追いかける。
そうして、風景の気配や感覚をすくい上げるように作品を制作している。

There was always a vague unease somewhere within myself and the environment I inhabited.
That feeling sometimes made the scenery I saw seem melancholy. Yet there were also moments when I suddenly felt reassured by the brightness of the dawn sky or the warmth of the damp air heading toward thaw.
Come to think of it, that unease was always somewhere.
Unhappy news, unprecedented disasters, unknown diseases, wars that suddenly begin.
The sensation of dipping one's feet into cold unease persists somewhere, always.
And then, looking down, there are moments when I notice the winter ground beginning to sprout faintly.
What arises then is a tremor too small to be called emotion. There, I feel the warmth that still lives.
Like tracing the faint tremors that suddenly appear within such phenomena, I layer lines. I chase sensations.
In this way, I create works as if scooping up the atmosphere and sensations of the landscape.
