作家コメント
2022年は、変な年だ。コロナ禍、AI、地球環境 やLGBTに関するアクションの台頭で、古い価値 基準が崩壊。逆に今まで何の役にも立たなかっ たことが、ゆっくりと評価されはじめているよう な気がする。これはまずい。ノーメッセージ美術 家として、役に立たないものをつくってきたが、 このままだと、役に立ってしまいそうだ。ここは あえて、鳩のように群れに紛れ、当てどなく歩き まわり、今まで以上に役に立たないものをつくり たい。文人墨客からも、経済奴隷からも、「まだ そんなことやってるの」と言われ続けるために。

The year 2022 is a strange year. Old standards of value are collapsing with the rise of the Corona disaster, AI, and actions related to the global environment and LGBT. Conversely, things that have been useless until now are slowly beginning to be valued. This is not good. As a no-message artist, I have been making useless things, but at this rate, they may become useful. I dare to blend in with the crowd like a pigeon, walk around aimlessly, and create something even more useless than before. I want to create something even more useless than before, so that both the literati and the economic slaves will continue to say, "You're still doing that?

今回の田中偉一郎展「２０２２」は当画廊での6回目の個展である。今回の個展の題である「２０２２」とは、２０２２年で、この年は世界中が可笑しい、コロナ、ウクライナ問題、等。最も政治事に縁の遠いと思われる作家のコメントが、将にその後に起こることを予言している。アーティストはそういう力を持っているようだ。作品は作家の原点回帰の鳩。この時期足元を見つめることは重要なことだ。

The exhibition "2022" by Iichiro Tanaka is the sixth solo exhibition at the gallery. The title of this exhibition, "2022," refers to the year 2022, a year in which the world will be in a state of Funny, Corona, the Ukraine problem, etc. The artist's comments, which seem to be the most distant from political matters, are predicting what will happen afterwards. Artists seem to have that kind of power. The work is a pigeon, a return to the artist's origins. It is important to look at our feet at this time of the year.
