作家コメント

仕事を始めて、制作の時間が細切れになってきた。
そこで止める。再び見る。
そういう時間が、自然と生まれてきた。
日常のなかで扱う仕事は、終わりが見えている。ひとつひとつ、ここまで。
でも作品は違う。
「上出来に見えたかと思えば、全くたよりなく見える」そういうことが、とても面白いと思う。
それは、あなたの景色と私の景色が重なる余地だと思う。

I started to job and my time for my work became more and more fragmented.
I stop, and look again.
That kind of time has come naturally.
The job in my daily life has an end in sight. One by one, it ends here.
But painting is different.
The moment I think I've done it well, it can see out to be not.
I think that's what's so interesting about it.
Maybe this is where there is room for your view and mine to overlap.

ギャラリーコメント

京橋の画廊で古山さんの個展を拝見した。日本画専攻とのことだが、日本画顔料を使用しているが、支持体といい、画面のフォルムも変形もあり、これはいわゆる日本画ではない。

支持体のかたち、素材の色、質感と対話しているうちに、作家の絵の対象であるつかみどころのない、身近な日常の感覚、記憶が画面におぼろげで朦朧とした形として現れてくるようです。その現れが思わぬ感覚であり、作品との出会いであると云う。

これら作品は作家が能動的に作り上げると云う感覚よりは、画材を触り、動かしているうちに作品が生まれているような、不思議な絵だと思う。

何を考えて作っているのだろうかと興味がわいた。作品・作家をもっと知りたく個展をお願いした

I saw Furuyama's solo exhibition at a gallery in Kyobashi. I was told that the artist majored in Japanese-style painting, but although she used Japanese painting pigments in his works, I felt that his works were not so-called Japanese-style paintings, judging from the support and the form of the paintings.

As the artist interacts with the form of the support, the colors and textures of the materials, the elusive and familiar everyday sensations, gestures and memories that are the subject of his works seem to appear as hazy and fuzzy forms on the surface of the painting. Their appearance is an unexpected sensation, an encounter with the work.

I think these works are mysterious, as if the work is born while the artist is touching and moving the painting materials rather than actively creating the work.

I was interested in what the artist was thinking when he was creating his works. I requested a solo exhibition to learn more about the works and the artist.
