「カンナをデッサンすると、堂々と大きく立っているのかと思ったら、花びらはつねに風にゆらゆら、ふらふら揺れつづけ同じ姿をとどめません。

花びらには絵の具をこぼしたような模様があって、その色と形は揺れるたびに空に飛び出していきました。

描くほどに動き、踊り出しました。」

I realized something about Canna Lily when I drew a sketch of them.
While they show off the majestic beauty, each petal never hold the same look every time they sway in the wind.
The dots on their petals -look like spelled paints - are popping out into the sky every time they swing in the breeze.
The more I draw them, the more they dance.

作家は対象の人物、花、静物など身近にある対象に近づきそこにある物のみならずその場の空気、風、音、など全てを取り込み対象物のリアリティを高めている。大変力強い。
今回作家は、それに加えて、いつも自分の生活の中にあるごく身近な人、犬に目を向け軽快なクロッキーを仕上げた。こういう一面がある。このクロッキーの集積が彼女の絵画の基本となっているのであろう。

The artist approaches familiar objects such as people, flowers, still life, etc. and takes in not only the objects but also the atmosphere, wind, sound, etc. to enhance the reality of the objects. It is very powerful.
This time, in addition, the artist has focused on a very familiar dog, a person, in her life, to create a light-hearted croquis. This is one side of the artist. The accumulation of these sketches probably forms the basis of her paintings.
