作家コメント
何かを一から始めて身に付けるには失敗などの経験を繰り返し、それがやがて自分自身のものとなる。今までの習慣に新たな行動様式が加わることで、習得するまでの繰り返しの時間と、それ以外の時間の進む速度が違うことに気づく。それぞれの体感する時間の速さは異なり、遅れたり歪んだりしながら変化する。日常の行動が増え、それらが新しい習慣となるまでの過程を彫刻にする。

To start from scratch and learn something, it takes repeated experiences, including failures, which eventually become one's own. As new behaviors are added to existing habits, we notice that the repetition of time until mastery is different from the speed at which the rest of the time progresses. The speed of time experienced by each is different, and changes with delay and distortion. The daily behaviors increase, sculpting the process by which they become new habits.

青木 悠太朗君の個展は当画廊では初めてであり、また当画廊で彫刻作品を取り上げるのもはじめてである。私は以前から作家、作品の独自性に注目してきた。
作家は日常、自身の取り巻く行動や物事を主に木彫に作り込む。今個展のテーマは「新しい習慣」である。
作家は、新たな日常の動きが習慣となるまでの時間と事象を彫刻に落とし込むという大変意欲的でユニークな作品である。

This is the first solo exhibition of Yutaro Aoki's work at the gallery, and also the first time we have exhibited his sculptures. I have long paid attention to the uniqueness of the artist and his work.
The artist creates his wood sculptures mainly from the actions and things that surround him in his daily life. The theme of this solo exhibition is 'new habits'.
It is a very ambitious and unique work, in which the artist incorporates the time and events of new everyday movements into the sculpture until they become habits.
